Functional Annotations
Enzyme classification and Gene Ontology terms linked to this protein.
Gene Ontology (GO)
6- GO:0005524 Binding to ATP, adenosine 5'-triphosphate, a universally important coenzyme and enzyme regulator.
- GO:0003677 Any molecular function by which a gene product interacts selectively and non-covalently with DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid).
- GO:0009035 Catalysis of the endonucleolytic cleavage of DNA to give random double-stranded fragments with terminal 5' or 3' protrusions, driven by ATP hydrolysis. Cleavage is dependent on the presence in the DNA of a specific recognition site. Cleavage may occur hundreds or thousands of base pairs away from the recognition site due to translocation of DNA.
- GO:0009307 A defense process found in many bacteria and archaea that protects the organism from invading foreign DNA by cleaving it with a restriction endonuclease. The organism's own DNA is protected by methylation of a specific nucleotide, which occurs immediately following replication, in the same target site as the restriction enzyme.
- GO:0004519 Catalysis of the cleavage of ester linkages within nucleic acids by creating internal breaks.
- GO:0006304 The covalent alteration of one or more nucleotide sites in DNA, resulting in a change in its properties.
